They're usually recognizable, though not usually as people. I've definitely seen Batman-like anomalies before, and there is the Fiona anomaly that was running around.
You can't take parts from the buildings. Everything has been stripped down, and most of them are just decorated metal. We could try writing on a ruin, one of the parts too big or buried to be moved.
