Heard about your "artwork" that you left in one of the buildings. I know it must have seemed funny or cathartic in the moment, or maybe you weren't expecting it to stick around this long, but the point stands that you defaced the remnants of someone's home--possibly all that's left of them--for the sake of a crude joke. There are kids wandering around here. They don't need to see that.
Alphonse, Edward, Mami, and I are going to search the school for supplies today, and then we'll be heading south. We're meeting with some others to try to unlock a door to a hospital down in the tunnels under the southern ice wall. Wish us luck.
I hope you are well. We're all thinking of you. Please stay safe.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Take care,
Freya
[compose a tablet message like a hand-written letter? Why not. It makes her feel more at home than the short little messages people usually send each other. Besides, she has tried to call to check in, but Steph isn't picking up.]
[of course, Steph is dead right now, but she has no idea.]
Edited (woops i forgot to check what day steph respawned on) 2015-09-12 14:41 (UTC)
[ Steph is a little freaked the fuck out right now, and certainly can't be bothered to respond in kind. Text is both natural and necessary. She can't hear anything. It's really throwing her off her game. ]
*He includes a headshot of Clayton so she can see how fine he is. He totally looks 100% fine and okay...except for looking so disheveled and out of it. And the necktie tied around his head that kinda looks like there's dried blood on it. But surely its nothing to worry about.*
[ She's getting an idea of how to deal with Brian, and the fact that he's not threatening or asking for ransom or anything makes her lean towards Tim's theory that he doesn't plan to really hurt Clayton. ]
Hey Spoiler. Someone linked to this on the network earlier. The thread is the interesting part, one of the possessions I've heard about I think. Could be a clue as to the true nature of the monsters? Perhaps the 'babysitters' mentioned in various records of the town? This assertion that they used to be 'different,' I wonder what it means, exactly.
Thank you again for orientation documents. It was a... let's say 'interesting' read/watch. So happy to be in this charming place.
Not sure about the 'strange mirror' in yours and @lelric's documents. Discussion on the network seems to indicate @Enoch was suffering from face blindness... something he 'lost' after death, as I've heard happens? Not sure it had anything to do with the mirror. Has anyone been back there since?
[Someone is being an insomniac, and his name rhymes with Brooklyn Dodgers.]
Got some useful links from @totheark, here and here. Apparently being near monsters gives you nausea, headaches, and nosebleeds? I did not know that. Possibly something for the info document?
Question for you also. Is @lawbringer correct that you have a list of user names and identities, but some user names remain unidentified? ...I've been bothering everyone today and yesterday trying to find information on some people I found named on the obituary lists: Peggy Carter, Loki Laufeyson, and Clint Barton. I'm trying to confirm whether I know them. She suggested I see if any of your unattached user names ring a bell with me, like if it's something I think they might have chosen. Do you have a few moments to help me out? I'd appreciate it, this is really itching at me.
I see, about the monsters... I've never experienced that myself, but then I haven't really been sleeping well for the last four months. Not sure I'd know the difference.
Let me dig up that list. I'd kinda given up on the people who were left. Too many names, not enough network posts.
A few things I need to ask. How are you and everyone else? Have you heard from Rhys and Angel? Also, I found a couple cat stuffed animals. Know anyone who might want them?
[ Steph has been watching the network waiting for a message from one of the boys. She knew she had to say something when the obituary came up, but... she couldn't find the words. "Sorry" didn't seem to cut it. ]
[ Too much to handle at once, it only belatedly occurs to him that Stephanie had once been traveling with Al. It's even worse when he hears about it from Zell before he has a chance to contact her. They might not be good friends or anything, but he liked her well enough when they shot the shit and played PacMan together. Al also trusted and cared for her. That's enough to put her in his good books. ]
I heard about what happened to Al and Ed. I'm sorry. they were my friends too.
if there's anything you need you let me know you hear?
[ Because he knows if there's anything he could do in Al's stead, it's to help take care of those he's left behind. He knows it's what he would have wanted most. ]
Hey Steph! The group is going to be splitting up to investigate. I'm heading over to the school with Zack and Jim. The others are checking out cat houses. How have you been?
so, if i told you our buddy jack white has green hair, a clown face, and a smile like jack the ripper would that mean anything to you? because as far as i remember from seeing you that's not really standard where you're from
if you're too much of an idiot to stay away from him know that he's got: my cane a scalpel a sock filled with rubble he can throw like a bolas and a screwdriver along with the drain cleaner acid squirt guns and steak knife
[After a rather disastrous conversation with Peggy, Alfie sits on the information for a while. He doesn't want to ask Arthur, a man he's never met and knows nothing about, for information on this. But unfortunately, his resources and information sources are rather limited, and it doesn't take long for him to get to a point where he can't stand not knowing anymore. Stephanie might not be a good option, but she's the best one that he has.]
How well do you know your history in 2014?
[Text, despite how hard he's been trying to get other people to do voice or video with him.]
[ Jim hesitates here, unsure of what exactly he needs to say next. Breaking the news is almost - but not really, not even a little - as hard as seeing it happen.
Eventually he manages to press forward. ]
Sorry for calling so early. I just needed to tell you something before you saw it on the network. Something about your group of cold-weather friends, kind of.
